Research Requirements

CCDSoft includes several useful tools on the Research menu:

Insert the World Coordinate System (WCS) and perform automated astrometry for a single image.
Insert minor planets into a single image (using TheSky’s minor planet database).
Generate a three dimensional surface plot for a single image.
Blink compare two or more images using variable blink speeds.
Generate a star chart that corresponds to your image.
Generate a Digitized Sky Survey (DSS) image that corresponds to your image.
Generate a DSS image for any area of the sky.
Create and run a slide show of images.
Display the stars in your image used for astrometry.
Display the objects found in your image.
Display the minor planets found in your image.

TheSky6 Professional Edition or TheSky for Windows Level IV, version 5.00.014 or later must be installed in order to perform the following commands:

Insert the World Coordinate System (WCS) and perform automated astrometry for a single image.
Insert minor planets into an image (using TheSky’s minor planet database).
Generate a star chart that corresponds to your image.
Display the objects found in your image.
Display the minor planets found in your image.
All commands in the Analyze Folder of Images fly out menu: Pre-Analyze, Minor Planet Search, Supernova Search, Minor Planet Light Curves, Variable Star Light Curves.

TheSky6 Professional Edition and TheSky version 5 Level IV's logos appear in help topics that require one of these programs to function.
