Keeping Accurate Time

Software-based telescope control and telescope modeling require an accurate time base. Computer clocks, however, can be very poor "time keepers." If your computer has access to the internet, consider using software that connects to NTP servers to keep accurate time.

Windows XP will automatically synchronize your computer's clock with Internet time servers. Click Start | Control Panel | Date and Time and then click the Internet Time tab.
