TheSky6 Help |
Use this dialog box to record and keep notes on objects that you've viewed. Here's how. Once you've viewed an object (using your naked eye, binoculars, telescope, video camera, CCD camera, or whatever) and wish to record your observations:
Display the Object Information dialog box for this object using the Find command.
Click
the Observer Log
button (
) on the Object Information window.
The Observer Log dialog box lists two items: the name of the object(s) that you've observed (in the left hand column) and the notes for this object (in the right hand column).
Type your notes after the Start Notes For... text.
When you're finished, click Update Observer Log.
A text file named My Observing Log.txt is created in the My Documents\Software Bisque\TheSky Version 6\Observer Logs folder that stores these notes.
Subsequent observations are appended to the end of the current log file, and all observations for a particular object are listed when the object's name is selected.
Object Name
Lists the objects in this observer log text file.
Notes
Displays the cumulative observer notes for the selected object.
File Name
Lists the file name of the observer log ASCII text file.
Update Observer Log
Click this button to save the changes to the Observer Log text file and exit this window.
The list of observed objects appears in the Find dialog box tree list.
