Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has three Paramount MX mounts. Recently, one of them developed the following problem. Moving the telescope in Declination via the paddle causes it to move an high-speed and lose its pointing. It then can't be paddled back the other way.The scope has to be homed again to recover its pointing.

I have tried the hand paddle on our other two MX mounts. They work properly. I have also tried other paddles and joysticks on the MX in question. The same behavior occurs.

It seems that there is something wrong with the electronics in the mount.

Can you suggest a way to diagnose the problem?

Thanks,

Try calibrating the joystick as described in the Paramount User Guide on the mount that exhibits the behavior.  Any difference?
