I have been given an oppotunity to purchase a good condition Paramount ME I mount.
I was wondering what type of support exists for the ME as far as repair, maintenance and upgrades.
the mount will be used with a C14HD and 0.7X reducer which I think the mount will handle like nothing’s there.
Any suggestions? Tips?
The mount has been sitting in storage for at least a year in AC.
We look forward to welcoming you soon to the community of Paramount Robotic Telescope Mount owners!

The exact Bisque TCS (Telescope Control System) originally supplied with a particular Paramount ME would depend upon when the mount was produced. Over the course of its eleven-year production life, the Paramount ME came with the MKS 3000, MKS 3200 or MKS 4000 TCS, any of which can be field-upgraded to the current MKS 5000 TCS. There is generally no need to upgrade the TCS, except in the case of a TCS failure (due to discontinued componentry, we are no longer able to repair the earlier MKS models).

That would represent about 1/3 of the mount's 150-lb. payload capacity. A bit more with mounting hardware, camera(s), focusers, filter wheels, etc., as applicable.

Consider using our C14 OTA Mounting Rings, which will provide far better results than a dovetail mounting.

You should re-lubricate the gears (recommended annually).
You should also ask the seller to transfer the software license. There is a USD $300 charge to transfer the software license for a Paramount, but that includes a one-year subscription with download access to the latest installers.
