In one place you state that the pier's bottom plate (as well as the top plate) is 0.500 inches thick, but a drawing of the base plate indicates that the base plate is only 0.375 inches thiick. so, which is correct?

The top and bottom plates of the Software Bisque Permanent piers are 0.50 inches thick.  (The incorrect dimension on the bottom plate drawing at the above link has been corrected.)
