TheSkyX Student Won't Run

I got my Skywatcher telescope with TheSkyX Student and installed it.  When I try to run it I get a windows error message  "TheSkyX has encountered a problem and needs to close."  I downloaded the TheSkyX compatibility Test and it said "Passed  TheSkyX should be able to run on this computer"

If the behavior persists,

  1. What OS?
  2. Are the latest updates for the OS installed? (If Windows, use the Windows Update feature.)

It's Windows XP Home edition.   All updates are installed including my display adapters.

I have suffred from the similar problem with this SkyWatcher bundled software. Did you find any clue to run?

Run TheSkyX Compatibility Test  for Windows.

What is version of OpenGL reported?  And, what make and model video display?

I ran the compatibility test and here's the results.  Version 1.4.0, Parsed Version 14, Vendor SIS, Renderer 650/m650 VGA

I ran the compatibility test and it showed "PASSED". The video card is nVidia 6200 with 128MB RAM. It is openGL 2.1.2 version. I also tried to downloaded all historical video drivers (2007 - 2010) from nVidia, and none of them can work with TheSkyX.

TheSkyX Student Edition requires OpenGL 1.5 or later to run.  See the TheSkyX Student Minimum System Requirements page for details.

Did you update the computer's video driver?  If so, then the computer's video hardware is not capable of running TheSkyX Student Edition.

This is an unnecessary step.

  1. What is the exact OS?
  2. Are the latest OS updates installed?
  3. What is the exact wording of the error message?
