Severe shipping charge for shipping theSkyX Pro database.

Reading back through some of the prior posts I see that you feel USPS is inadequate for shipping. I have never had a problem with insured and tracked USPS post to or from Canada for that matter, but you likely have shipped more than I have. At any rate, the $95 that UPS charges is quite obscene but so be it if the $95 covers all import duties, brokerage fees, and taxes? There is absolutely no further cost involved?

Yes, SB has shipped thousands of packages world wide over the past 25 years.  USPS's record was abysmal.  That's why we use UPS exclusively now.

That's what UPS charges Software Bisque for shiipping, etc..  I wish we could change it, but cannot.   Please note that the high costs of shipping can be avoided completely via the "Download Only" option when purchasing software from the Software Bisque Store.  For example, here's a link to TheSkyX Pro for Windows (Download Only).

I cannot say for sure.  UPS acts as Software Bisque's international broker, and, if there are additional costs involved to import the software into Canada, UPS or Canada customs will contact you.

So what you are saying is that this is just UPS's charge for shipping and all further expenses such as brokerage and taxes are not included. I was looking at this for the extended database on hard drive which is not downloadable as far as I can see. Unfortunately I will not be held hostage by UPS for this data so I will pass on it until a better way is found to acquire this information. Possibly I can try to acquire the hard drive and data when I travel to the US later this fall. Would that be an option? Might i get it shipped to the hotel I will be staying at? If so, what is the lead time for shipping so that I can ensure it is present when I arrive?

TheSkyX Pro Database Add On is in stock, and typically ships within 2-3 business days (unually less).

Or, if you want to go ahead and order the hard drive now, we can make an exception to our shipping policy and send the package via the USPS.  When you place your order from the Software Bisque Store, in the Special Instructions, specify that you want to use USPS and not UPS to Canada.  If you give me the heads up, I'll make sure the Front Desk ships it accordingly (and your account is charged properly).

Thank you for this consideration. While I would like to give USPS a try, if you have had troubles in the past then opening this door for me will mean others will request the same and you will be right back into the scenario you have decided to avoid. So, since I will be in San Francisco for 9 days or so this fall, I will contact you just prior and place the order through the on-line store with the address of the hotel as the delivery address, Once again, thank you!

As an aside to this, I have been playing around with theSkyX Pro software on my old 2GB Pentium M laptop with NVidia GPU under WinXP Pro. It seems to run quite nicely. I am definitely liking it!

I just ordered and paid for theSkyX Pro database add-on and filled out the shipping address incorrectly, or it came up incorrectly carrying through the country of Canada from my home/billing address.) Please ensure the final shipping address is San Francisco, California, United States, instead of Canada. Also, could you please ensure the shipping charges are changed to reflect the shipping destination? Thanks so much, Rick.

I recall writing about this before but I don't know if I actually managed to send it. I am currently in San Francisco and ordered the Database add-on. It seems I was charged the full rate for shipping to Canada even though the item has been shipped and is due to arrive at the hotel I am staying in tomorrow, November 10th. I thought the rate to a US address was significantly lower. There was no method of selecting any other shipping method on the order form.
