THESKY CAN'T CREATE DSS IMAGE FROM REALSKY

ISSUE

When attempting to Create DSS Image from within TheSky, instead of being asked to insert the appropriate CD-ROM, the following error message appears:
( ! )
[ OK ]
No descriptive text appears. Clicking OK sometimes results in a similar
( X ) message. No image appears, simply returns to the Sky Display.

RESOLUTION

Software Bisque is researching this problem. It would seem to be exceedingly rare, and we believe it to be due to a problematic Windows environment.

Here are some things to check:
1. If present on the system, de-activate any third-party background utilities (e.g. virus detector, uninstall aid, anti-crash aid, etc.).
2. Try TheSky's Create DSS Image function with the correct RealSky CD-ROM already in place (e.g. #5 for NGC4565).
3. Try it with RealSkyView or CCDSoft already running.

Even if one of the above works, it's possible that it will only work once per session (TheSky may need to be closed and run again to get the next image).
