I updated The SkyX serious astronomer edition for windows with the latest update. SkyX will no longer open.
Why did the Sky program fail to open after installing the latest update? - "Failed to Open" Error = 205. I had to completely uninstall the program and re-install without the update. Please advise
What was the exact version and build number of TSX Serious that you formerly had installed?
Attempting to use TheSkyX Serious (Win) Latest Update on an earlier version than one for which it is intended (currently versions 10.1.11 and later) can result in the problem you described. Here's a recent related thread.

As version 10.1.2 is earlier than 10.1.11, it isn't capable of being updated using the currently-available Latest Update. As you discovered, you can instead use the latest Full Installer to bring your version up to date.
