    Vista Compatability???

What is the Vista compatablity for The Sky 6, CCDSoft and TPoint??

Will these programs run on both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions??

I've tried searching this site for a Vista post but I'm located in a state forest with dial-up only access and it would take me days to complete a search.

    Thanks for your help!

They're all compatible with Vista 32- and 64-bit. Make sure to install the latest updates from the Downloads page for each.

    Thanks Daniel.

I'm sorry to have bothered you.  I found your link to the Vista Q&A later in the week and the answer was clearly there.

    Re: Vista Compatability???

I have purchased a new copy of CCDSoft Rev188 and downloaded it onto my Vista Ultimate (64bit) PC from your site.

There were a couple of glitches that popped up during the installation, 1. having to do with the SBFocuser.dll did not self-register or unregister, which I disreguarded since I don't have one and...2. Error starting driver sbigudrv, This driver has been blocked from loading.  I found this file in Windows\System rather than Windows\System32???  I tried making a copy and slipping it into the System32 folder but this did not resolve the problem.

I searched your knowledge base and discovered the comments about the User Account Control.  I then turned it off, uninstalled CCDSoft then reran the installation.  Unfortunately this effort did not clear up the above problems.  I still get the note #2 "Not Started, click update to Start" footnote in the SBIG Driver checker box for: sbigudrv.sys rev4.06 8-23-02 Yes*2

When I plug in my ST10XME, a dialog box comes up indicating that Windows needs to install driver software for your unknown device.  After granting permission to proceed, a dialog box pops up in the lower right of the screen that says "Installing Driver software" and it indicates that it is searching windows update.  Subsequently I receive the message that Windows couldn't find driver software and an option is provided to browse for the drivers is presented.  I then point to: Windows\System32\drivers like I did in Windows XP and click OK but this effort fails.  I don't get the USB driver dialog boxes illlustrated by CCDOps instructions either.

Please advise where I'm going wrong.

As I understand, SBIG's camera drivers are not compatible with Vista 64-bit editions.  Therefore, CCDSoft (or any other application that uses SBIG camera drivers) cannot control SBIG cameras with this OS.

At this point, the only recourse is to use Vista 32, or XP.

Of course, if you want a CCDSoft refund, let us know.

FYI, Matt Longmire announced some test 64 bit drivers on the SBIG list, so he could offer to help test them.
