Paramount MYT SolidWorks eDrawing

Paramount MYT Done Virtually

The Paramount MYT is designed using SolidWorks 3D CAD software.  And, the Paramount MYT 3D CAD model that is being used to manufacture the mount can also be viewed with the free SolidWorks eDrawings software on Mac or Windows.

The Paramount MYT SolidWorks eDrawing let's you:

  • Manipulate and inspect the three-dimensional model of the mount for any orientation and any magnification.
  • Measure every dimension of the Paramount MX mount in standard configurations and for different latitudes (0-60 degrees), and when the mount pointed at the zenith.
  • Isolate and measure the dimensions for most components (the worm block assemblies and electronics have been removed).
  • Identify the part name for every component.
  • Integrate this model into the 3D model of your observatory.
  • Look at cross sections of the mount to inspect, for example the (massive) internal bearings, and rigid design.
  • Much more.

To view the Paramount MX 3D CAD Model in SolidWorks eDrawing Viewer:

  1. Download and install the SolidWorks eDrawing Viewer software for your operating system.  Mac or Windows
  2. Click the Download link on the right side of this page to download the Paramount MX eDrawing (.easm) file.
  3. Open the file in step 2 using the software installed in step 1.  Consult the eDrawing Viewer software documentation for details on how to use its features.

Dear Software Bisque,

Thanks for providing this drawing. However, when I tried to set the declination I was unable to move the entire mount. I could only move pieces. I am trying to put together an entire model to make sure that the pier, mount and telescope fit in the observatory. Is there any chance I could get a solidworks file where I can build a full model?
