Because the Full Moon rises at a shallower angle to the horizon in the Fall than in
Summer, it also rises during evening twilight over more successive nights at this later
time of year. Since the near-Full Moon is shining as twilight gives way to night
over several nights, it is easier for farmers to see their crops during the Fall harvest,
thus this Full Moon has become known as the Harvest Moon.
