"The Planets Brighten, and: Triskaidekaphobia Day!"

Scheduled air date: 2000 Oct 09-15

This month is a good time to look for the planets Venus, Jupiter and Saturn.  Venus can be seen shortly after sunset in the southwest...
(Shown about an hour after sunset for mid-Northern latitudes)

...and Jupiter and Saturn are prominent a few hours later in the east.  Additionally, the just-past Full Moon will appear near Saturn on the night of October 15th, and near Jupiter the night of the 16th.
(Shown four hours after sunset for mid-Northern latitudes; the gray regions are part of the Milky Way)
