"Celebrate National Astronomy Day with The Best Planetary Lineup in 2 Decades!"

Scheduled air date: 2002 Apr 15-21

Five planets in our solar system are currently closing in on a gathering which will be at its best in May.  Meanwhile, we can watch the Waxing Crescent Moon pass by each of four of these planets—Venus, Mars, Saturn then Jupiter—in the evening skies this week.
(Shown about an hour after sunset for mid-Northern latitudes.)

By this Saturday—National Astronomy Day in the United States—Mercury will have joined the other four planets in this great planetary lineup!
(Shown about an hour after sunset on April 20th for mid-Northern latitudes.)
