As the Sun sets in the west, the red planet Mars rises in the east at about the same time.
Mars is at opposition—opposite the Sun as seen from Earth—on November 7th, when it will rise at sunset and set at sunrise.

Next Monday, the one-day-before-New Moon will appear next to Mars all night long.
