The Summer Triangle—comprised of the bright stars Vega, Altair and Deneb—is
prominent in the night sky throughout the Summer, and even into early Autumn.

Our Solar System—including the Earth and our Sun—is moving at a speed of about
43000 mi./69000 km per hour in the direction of the star Vega. Vega is about
three times the diameter of our Sun, and a little over 25 light years distant.
(Comparison of the relative sizes of Vega and our Sun
shown.)
