"The Moon, a Planet and a Star Line Up In a Row This Sunday Morning"

Scheduled air date: 2006 Nov 06-12

The Last Quarter Moon, ringed planet Saturn and the bright star Regulus appear in a line on the morning of November 12.
(Shown about 2 hours before sunrise on November 12th for mid-northern latitudes.)

Be sure not to miss the planet Mercury as it presents a rare sight this Wednesday when it passes in front of, or "transits," the Sun. Weather permitting, this event will be visible from all parts of the United States, though the Sun will set for some areas before the transit has finished.

The table below lists the approximate start and finish times of this event for various time zones in the United States and Canada. A time in parentheses indicates that the Sun sets before the transit has finished for some or all regions in that time zone.
