NOTE: Make sure you are logged onto the system as an administrator when configuring serial ports or installing any software. After you have installed the device driver that is supplied with the USB - Serial adapter you can simply plug it in to any available USB port. You will see the following. Assuming the drivers are already installed. If they are not you cannot continue. If you have not installed the drivers yet or are not an administrator you cannot proceed.

If the Bluetooth serial adapter is not already properly configured you should do this first. It doesn't make sense to connect to the device until it has already been properly configured and ready to use. < Click here.

All is well!

Com Port now added

If you have any issues refer to the following page for more details and trouble shooting this device.

But wait what COM PORT do I use in TheSky?

Good question. Because there is nothing to indicate this you will have to ask the system. Easy enough. Just use the Windows | System | Device Manager. See below.

Finding the COM Port number assigned

After the Bluetooth serial adapter has been properly configured check the COM PORT assignment using the  Windows - Device Manager. This is the COM PORT labeled as the  "Aircable USB Serial Port" as shown below.

Device Manager

Note Aircable USB SERIAL PORT (COM8)

Unlike using Bluetooth serial adapters requiring two ports an incoming and outgoing in this configuration there is only one single com port listed. Easy enough.

TheSky's Telescope Setup enter the COM port here

Com8

Now you are ready to use TheSky's Telescope | Link Establish. If the telescope is on and the correct serial port is entered you are good to go. If the telescope does not respond check power on the scope and Bluetooth adapter and then go back and make sure you have entered the correct Bluetooth COM PORT number.

At this point you are ready to connect to the telescope. If you have any issues refer to the following page for more details and trouble shooting this device.
