Field Of View Indicators (FOV)

You can use TheSky6 to compute the size of your field and magnification or scale in arcseconds/pixel with a CCD camera.

Here is how.  First access the dialog using View | Field of View Indicators. Using the Telescopes Tab just pick your telescope(s) from the list.  If the telescope is not listed you will have to "ADD" the telescope.  This requires knowing a few variables.  Like the focal length of the telescope and F-number.  The telescope should come with the details you need.

View | Field of View Indicators

Add all of your telescopes

Next add your Eyepieces and/or CCD cameras.  The same holds true.  If the CCD camera is not listed or you can't find the equivalent detector in another model you will have to add your CCD detector or eyepiece manually.

The following example is using CCD detector.

Choose CCD camera here
Add the detector from the list

Add All Detectors + All Telescopes

Now the hard work is done...

Note Size and Scale/Magnification!

Now you have everything you need. The scale is 2.47 arcseconds/pixel and the field imaged is 42 arcminutes square.
