Constellation Abbreviations Sky Database (SDB)

The new compiled SDB Get it here for the constellation labels will display the standard three letter abbreviation for each constellation instead its name. See below. Sample chart NOTE: Before making the change RENAME the existing two files to something else so you have a backup of the original version. Something like "Original Constellation Labels.txt" and "Original Constellation Labels.SDB" works. In the worst case the original version of the SDB and text file is also here for your convenience!
Just download the VERY small and fast ZIP file and extract the contents (unzip) the files and replace the two existing files with the new ones!
Replace the two files Constellation Labels.txt and
Constellations Labels.SDB in the folder \Thesky6\Data\Auxiliary Files
with the newer versions from the download.
TheSky Serious/Professional Users TheSky6 Pro includes the database compiler; it is straightforward to compile the text file by assigning the abbreviation field to the label field.
Data | Import The first label in the text is currently defined as the LABEL field. Simply scroll to the right using the right arrow until you see the abbreviation field. Drag the mouse over columns 67 - 69 and press "Label". This assigns the new field.
Now press OK and just Re-Compile the text for the change to take affect. Use the Compile button on the Import dialog. See above. When TheSky6 tells you that the SDB is already loaded, and asks add it again, click No or there will be two copies of the database.
