The newer compiled SDB Get it here for the constellation labels will display only the standard three letter abbreviation for the constellations instead of the whole name. See below.

Instructions!

NOTE: Before making the change RENAME the existing two files to something else so you have a backup of the original version. Something like "Original Constellation Labels.txt" and "Original Constellation Labels.SDB" works. In the worst case the original version of the SDB and text file is also here for your convenience!

Just download the VERY small and fast ZIP file and extract the contents (unzip) the files and replace the two existing files with the new ones!

Replace the files

"Constellation Labels.txt" and "Constellations Labels.SDB"

found in the folder

Because the more advanced versions include the database compiler it is quite simple to simply re-compile the text file by assigning the abbreviation field to the label field.

Data | Import

Define Fields

The first label in the text is currently defined as the LABEL field. Simply scroll to the right using the right arrow until you see the abbreviation field. Drag the mouse over columns 67 - 69 and press "Label". This assigns the new field.

Now press OK and just Re-Compile the text for the change to take affect. Use the Compile button on the Import dialog. See above.

Just say no!

When TheSky tells you that the SDB is already added say NO or you will have TWO redundant copies of the data. That is because this is a core supplied SDB that is automatically loaded Explanation & Instructions.

Press Compile then

No!
