I suggest you carefully scrutinize these two images. Download them if you like and look at the RAW data. Look at each detail for detail, star for star.  YES the 100X compression can and will fall apart and some of the very faint detail is lost however, still pretty amazing to take 102 CD's down to 18! Also note that astrometry performed on the same star from each of the two images was nearly identical. These are raw unprocessed images.
 

This is NOT TO SAY that there will be limitations using the $79.00 RealSky product compared to the $1,500.00 102 CD set but RealSky certainly has its' place!

Also note that the 10X compressed version of the entire night sky is no longer available on 102 CD-ROMS and originally cost $3,500.00 then dropped to $1,500.00 before the product was taken off the market.  Both sets work exactly the same with TheSky and CCDSoft or RealSkyView.
