UCAC 2.0 and USNO B Stellar Catalogs

TheSky6 employs the latest UCAC 2.0 and the USNO B stellar database for improved positional accuracy when performing astrometric calculations.

Standard Stellar Databases

• Hubble Guide Star Catalog (19 million stars to 14th magnitude)

• Hipparcos/Tycho

• *UCAC2 (48 million stars up to about 40 degrees with precise astrometry).

• USNO B1.0 subset (approximately 15 million stars; a subset of 80 GB version to fill in for the portion of the celestial sphere that the UCAC2 does not cover; better astrometry than USNO A.)

*The UCAC2 and the USNO B1.0 subset are included with TheSky6 Professional Edition only.

Optional Supported Stellar Databases (not included with TheSky6)

• USNO B1.0 (80 GB, approximately 1 billion stars)

• USNO A2.0 (approximately 6 GB, 10 CD-ROM set, 500 million stars)

• USNO SA2.0 (600 MB, 1 CD-ROM set, 50 million stars)
