“SOUND CARD IS NOT INSTALLED” LAUNCHING THESKY

    ISSUE

After successfully installing TheSky, attempt to launch gives error message:
    “Finish – SND INIT
Error! Sound card is not installed.”
    (Windows 95 only?)

    RESOLUTION

During installation, shortcuts may have been erroneously tagged as MS-DOS applications (reason unknown). Correct the shortcuts by:

    1. Use Start, Settings, Taskbar, Start Menu Programs, Advanced to find the menu containing TheSky’s shortcuts (e.g. Start Menu, Programs, TheSky).

    2. Use File, New, Shortcut to create a new shortcut to replace the incorrect one – choose the application (e.g. Sky.exe), the destination menu (same as above, e.g. Start Menu, Programs, TheSky), and then assign a name to the shortcut (e.g. TheSky).

    3. Select the original (incorrect) shortcut, then press the Delete key to remove it. If desired, you may rename your new shortcut to that of the deleted one.

    4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for any remaining incorrect shortcuts.
