DOUBLE STARS DO NOT APPEAR

ISSUE

Clicking (toggling on) the double star button on the Object toolbar (at 50 degrees field of view and greater) has no effect on the displayed stars (only the single star button which makes “all stars” disappear); is there a problem with this?

RESOLUTION

This behavior is by design. Double stars are displayed at small fields of view. At wide fields of view, double stars (which are not resolvable) are not displayed. 

To view double stars (and star systems) 

1. Click Edit | Find.
2. Click the Frame Object option.
3. Navigate to Stars | WDS. Washington Catalog of Double stars are separated into blocks of 20000. Open any block and highlight the first double star. The Virtual Sky is updated to display it. Use the down arrow to view the next double star in list. Note that the Virtual Sky is automatically updated to frame this double star (or star system).
