CANNOT ESTABLISH A LINK BETWEEN TELESCOPE AND THESKY POCKET EDITION

    ISSUE

When I tap Telescope | Link | Establish, the message “No response from the device.” appears.

    RESOLUTION

    1. Make sure that you’ve installed the latest software version from http://www.bisque.com/download.

    2. Verify that the correct cables are being used for your telescope, and that they’re plugged in correctly.

TheSky Pocket Edition requires the following hardware:

    a. A telescope-specific serial telescope cable
    b. DB9 ActiveSync cable
    c. Null modem adaptor
    d. Gender changer adaptor.

Go to http://www.bisque.com/telescope and search for “Connecting Pocket PC Telescope” for details about how to connect these components to your telescope.

    3. If the behavior persists, log the serial communications between the telescope and TheSky Pocket Edition. Go to http://www.bisque.com/telescope and search for “logging TheSky serial communication” for details.

This text log can help Software Bisque determine the cause of telescope communication failures.

    Other Tips:

    * Make sure that you”ve installed the latest firmware for your telescope. Contact the telescope’s manufacturer for details.

    APPLIES TO

TheSky Pocket Edition and TheSky Pocket Edition with Pocket TPoint.
