THESKY TAKES A VERY LONG TIME TO REDRAW THE SCREEN

    ISSUE

TheSky redraws the screen very slowly (20 seconds or longer).

This behavior is abnormal. The normal amount of time to redraw the screen is less than one second or so.

    RESOLUTION

One or more file monitoring programs (virus, adware, spyware or pest-petrol software) is scanning TheSky's databases for infection each time TheSky accesses its database files. Configure the disc monitoring software to ignore TheSky's databases, or use a less aggressive disk scanning setting, or disable all virus/infection scanning software (not recommended) to resolve this issue.

    background

TheSky is a disk-intensive application that must open and read very large database files each time the screen is redrawn. Many file monitoring programs, by default, scan for possible virus infection with every disk read/write operation. This causes TheSky's screen refresh rate to become very slow.

    APPLIES TO

TheSky, all versions, all Levels, all Editions.
