    COMET POSITION NOT CORRECT

    ISSUE

The comet’s coordinates do not match the correct coordinates displayed in the Compute window in the Comet tab of the Comets and Asteroids dialog box. See the following for an example:

    121P/Shoemaker-Holt-Rodriguez121P |2000|19960820.27300| 2.6626000|0.3372030| 6.01379| 99.73080| 17.69800| 5.0 |15.0 |

    121P/Shoemaker-Holt-Rodriguez:

    Compute Button (Epoch 2000):
    RA:07h 57m 25.0s Dec:+22d 10′ 09″

    ID:
    Magnitude: 14.1
    RA:23h 59m 49.7s Dec:+22d 07′ 47″
    RA:00h 00m 0.0s Dec:+22d 08′ 54″ Epoch 2000

    RESOLUTION

If the name of an imported comet is greater than 30 characters, the comet’s position will be displayed incorrectly in the Sky Display, but correctly on the Comet Tab to the Comets & Minor Planets dialog box. As a work-around, do not enter comet names greater than 30 characters.

Updating to v4.00.100 or later will resolve this problem (limits entry to 20 characters).
