MISSING CONSTELLATION LINES IN THESKY6
ISSUE
Many constellations do not have corresponding constellation lines. Why?
RESOLUTION
TheSky6’s default set of constellation lines is derived from Patrick Moore’s definitions. This set does not include lines the following constallations:
-
Antila
-
Canes Venatici
-
Dorado
-
Equueleus
-
Eridianus
-
Fornax
-
Horologium
-
Induc
-
Mensa
-
Microscopium
-
Monoceros
-
Norma
-
Vulpecula
Workaround
TheSky6 comes with an alternate set of constellation lines from David Levy. This set includes constellation lines for all constallations except Camelopardalis and Telescopium.
To Use the Levy Constellation Line Set:
1. Click Data | Sky Database Manager.
2. Navigate to TheSky6’s SDBs folder. By default, the path name is:
C:/Program Files/Software Bisque/TheSky6/Data/User/SDBs
3. Select “Constellations – Levy” and then click Add.
4. Click Close.
Note:
* Software Bisque does not create, maintain, or establish the constellation lines. TheSky6 uses standard, published sets from Patrick Moore and David Levy.
APPLIES TO
TheSky6, all Editions.
