CONNECTING THESKY6 TO AUTOMADOME GIVES “NO SUCH INTERFACE SUPPORTED.”

    ISSUE

Connecting TheSky6 To AutomaDome results in the error “No such interface supported. Error code 0x80004002.”

    RESOLUTION

    1. Start the Observatory program (Ob.exe) go to Observatory | Server Connections and remove the checkmark next to TheSky (TheSky5 is implied here). Press OK, close the Observatory program.

    2. Re-register the following 4 DLLs :

    IRASDome.dll
    IRASDomeSink.dll
    IRASObservatory.dll
    IRASApp.dll

See http://www.bisque.com/support/sbkb2/1077.asp for instructions on how to register a DLL.

If the DLL is not present in TheSky6’s folder (look there first), it will be in “C:/Program Files/Common Files/System” folder.

    3. Reboot.
    4. See if the error persists (from TheSky6 press “D” to bring up the Dome Controller and choose Dome | Link | Establish).

    If the error does persist:
    A. Re-register all IRAS*.dll in “C:/Program Files/Common Files/System.”
    B. Re-register all IRAS*.dll in TheSky6’s folder.
    C. Reboot.
    D. See if the problem persists.

See the “More Information” under http://www.bisque.com/support/sbkb2/1077.asp for an easy way to register multiple DLLs.
