HOW TO DISABLE AUTOMATIC UPDATES OR CHANGE THE FREQUENCY OF CHECKING FOR UPDATES

    ISSUE

How can I disable TheSky6 and/or CCDSoft version 5’s feature that automatically checks for software updates, or modify the update frequency?

    RESOLUTION

TheSky6 and CCDSoft use InstallShield’s Update Manager software to automatically check for newer updates when the Help | Check for Updates command is selected, or at the specified “update check” frequency.

The following procedure will disable automatic updates.

    1. Click Start | All Programs | Software Bisque | CCDSoft | Check for CCDSoft Updates (or Check for TheSky6 Updates for TheSky6).
    2. On the Update Manager window, click the Update Settings tab.
    3. In the “Check for Updates” group, mark the “The InstallShield Manager will not automatically check for updates…” option.
    4. Click OK.

The following procedure allows you to configure the frequency checking for updates.

    1. Click Start | All Programs | Software Bisque | CCDSoft | Check for CCDSoft Updates (or Check for TheSky6 Updates for TheSky6).
    2. On the Update Manager window, click the Update Settings tab.
    3. In the “Check for Updates” group, mark the “The InstallShield Manager not automatically check for updates…” option.
    5. In the list box, select Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
    6. Click OK.

    APPLIES TO
