THE WRONG EDITION IS REPORTED BY THESKY6

    ISSUE

I purchased and insetalled TheSky6 Professional Edition (or TheSky6 Serious Astronomer Edition), but “Help | About TheSky6” indicates that TheSky6 Student Edition is installed instead.

    RESOLUTION

TheSky6 may report that the incorrect Edition is present if the installer is unable to properly register your serial number on your computer during installation, or the installer’s “Repair” or “Modify” operation is run after installation.

    To resolve:

    1. Click Start | Control Panel.
    2. Double-click the “Add or Remove Programs” icon.
    3. In the list of installed software, click “TheSky6” and then click “Add/Remove”
    4. When prompted, click “Remove” and then “OK”.
    5. Temporarily disable all virus/adware/spyware/pestware/running applications (and disconnect from any networks to minimize the possibility of infection).
    6. Reinstall TheSky6 from the original media.
    7. Verify that TheSky6 Professional Edition is installed correctly by running TheSky6, and clicking “Help | About TheSky6”.
    8. Install the latest update from http://www.bisque.com/hotfixes.
    9. Enable protective software and network connections.
