THESKY6 OR CCDSOFT UPDATE DOES NOT INSTALL THE LATEST VERSION
ISSUE
When running TheSky6 or CCDSoft Update, a window appears asking to “Modify/Repair/Remove” TheSky6 or CCDSoft Update. If I use the Modify or Repair option, TheSky6/CCDSoft is not updated to the correct version.
RESOLUTION
-
Download the most recent installer from http://www.bisque.com/download.
-
Click Start | Control Panel and then click Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP).
-
Select TheSky6 Updater for TheSky6 or the CCDSoft Updater for CCDSoft and then click Remove.
-
Close the Add or Remove Programs window.
-
Rerun the installer again to install the latest version.
The TheSky6 6.0.0.040 installer and the CCDSoft version 5.00.040 update installer incorrectly registers *uninstallation* information with the Windows operating system. Therefore, subsequent update installers attempt to perform the “Modify/Repair/Remove” operation, instead of just installing the update.
By uninstalling TheSky6 or the CCDSoft Update from the list of installed programs, subsequent installations will function as expected.
APPLIES TO
TheSky6 Version 6.0.0.40 Update Installer and CCDSoft Version 5.00.040 Update Installer.
