    NEW MOON FEATURES NOT APPEARING IN THESKYX VERSION 10.1.10 USING OPENGL 3.0 OR LATER

    ISSUE

    The installer for TheSkyX Professional Edition for Mac Latest Update and TheSkyX Professional Edition for Windows Latest Update Version 10.1.10 posted from 5:30 PM on February 9, 2011 and 8:30 AM on February 10, 2011 omitted four “texture” files that are required to display the new Moon features.

    RESOLUTION

    If you downloaded TheSkyX Pro for Mac or TheSkyX Pro for Windows between the times listed above, you can:

    • Redownload and reinstall TheSkyX Pro Latest update for your OS to obtain these files.  The installers now include the appropriate files. 

    -Or-

    • Download just the missing shader files and manually copy them to the appropriate locate on your hard drive.

    TheSkyX for Windows Instructions

    1. Exit TheSkyX Pro.
    2. Download http://www.bisque.com/richard/PlanetTextures.zip
    3. Extract the files from this archive to the following folder:

    /Resources/Common/Photos/Planet Textures

    Where

    is the folder where TheSkyX is installed.

    By default, this folder is:

    • C:/Program Files/Software Bisque (Windows 32-bit operating systems)
    • C:/Program Files (x86)/Software Bisque (Windows 64-bit operating systems)

    Restarting TheSkyX will now show the improved Moon.

    TheSkyX for Mac Instructions

    The missing files must be copied to a folder located within TheSkyX's Application bundle. Here's how.

    1. Quit TheSkyX Pro.
    2. Download http://www.bisque.com/richard/PlanetTextures.zip
    3. Right click on TheSkyX Pro's icon, then click the Show Package Contents command. Note that TheSkyX Pro is installed to the Applications folder (Click Go > Applications from Finder).
    4. From Finder, open the Contents folder, then the Resources folder, then the Common folder, then the Photos folder, finally the Planet Textures folder.
    5. Copy the files that were extracted from the archive in step 2 to the Planet Textures folder.

    Restarting TheSkyX will now show the improved Moon.
