CANNOT ESTABLISH LINK WITH ULTIMA 2000

ISSUE

When the user attempts to establish communications with the Celestron Ultima 2000, the error message “Ultima 2000 not responding, please check connections.”

RESOLUTION

If the Ultima 2000 is not responding, trying using the Hyperterminal application to query the telescope.

The command string “E#” (no quotes) should return the following:
34AB,12CE#
Current RA, Current Dec.

Also make sure that the cable is plugged into the hand paddle, and not the Auxiliary port.
