ST-4 MAKES LARGE CORRECTION WHEN TRACKING STARTED

    ISSUE

Although the ST-4 calibrates successfully, upon attempting to initiate auto-guiding (tracking), the ST-4 makes a large “correction,” and it behaves as if it has lost the guide star.

    RESOLUTION

SBIG has reported this problem (dealer notice dated 1998 Aug 25) to be caused by two substitute IC’s which were used in ST-4s with serial numbers between 1612 and 1690 (last four digits).

The customer should check with SBIG (805-969-1851 or sbig@sbig.com) to determine if their unit should be returned for correction.

NOTE: None of the affected ST-4s was sold by Software Bisque.
